My 2024 Year Review: Overcoming Challenges and Celebrating Growth
As 2024 comes to a close, I can’t help but reflect on the rollercoaster of a year I’ve had. It’s been filled with challenges, moments of doubt, and overwhelming tasks, but it has also been a year of growth, perseverance, and personal triumph. From struggling with my studies to managing my coding projects, there were times when I felt like giving up. But through it all, I’m proud to say that I made it through, and I’ve learned valuable lessons that I’ll carry with me into the new year.
Facing Challenges in Studies and Coding
2024 started with me juggling multiple responsibilities—my pre-med studies and my web development journey. Balancing both was no easy task. At times, the workload felt unbearable. I remember the stress of preparing for my Quarter 1 exams while also working on coding projects like my resume generator and 5-page Next.js application. The pressure was immense, and there were moments when I doubted whether I could handle it all.
But through these challenges, I learned to manage my time better. I adopted time-blocking techniques to ensure I was dedicating time to both my studies and coding projects. There were times when I had to put my coding projects on hold to focus on exams, and vice versa, but I kept reminding myself that patience and perseverance would lead to success.
Trusting Allah and Praying for Good
Through the difficulties, one thing that kept me grounded was my trust in Allah. Every time I felt overwhelmed or unsure of myself, I turned to prayer. I prayed for strength, guidance, and clarity. I truly believe that having faith and trusting in Allah’s plan played a huge role in helping me get through the tough times. It wasn’t always easy, but I kept reminding myself that everything happens for a reason and that Allah's timing is always perfect.
Making the Most of Time
A key lesson I learned this year was the importance of not wasting time. In between my studies and projects, I found myself sometimes procrastinating or getting distracted. But as I reflected on my goals, I realized how precious time is. I started prioritizing tasks better, staying more focused, and reminding myself that time spent wisely would lead to progress.
One memorable moment that stood out was after completing my HACKHATHON project, despite several obstacles. It felt amazing to see all my hard work pay off. I realized that it wasn’t just about completing tasks—it was about growing through the process and learning new skills along the way.
People Who Supported Me
This year, I also had the privilege of meeting and connecting with people who supported me along the way. I met new friends and mentors, some through my web development classes, others through personal connections. Their encouragement, advice, and belief in me made all the difference. I especially want to thank my teachers, for their guidance during my Next.js projects and hackathon assignments.
Additionally, my family was always there to provide emotional support, reminding me to stay focused and never give up. Their belief in me kept me motivated, even on days when I felt like I couldn’t continue.
The Road Ahead
Looking back, I’m filled with a sense of pride and gratitude. 2024 was a year of growth, both in my academic and personal life. Despite the obstacles, I made it through, and I’m stronger for it. I’ve learned that success isn’t always linear, and setbacks are simply stepping stones to bigger achievements. I’m excited for what the future holds and confident that I can handle whatever challenges come my way.
To anyone reading this, I encourage you to never give up on your dreams. Trust in yourself, trust in Allah, and never waste time. Keep pushing forward, even when things get tough. Your perseverance will pay off, and the results will be worth the effort.
